Residual Income

A few years ago my life was very good. I was
riding the crest of a great new market called the Video Industry.
In 1978 I opened the 6th video store in the nation, learned
the business and sold my expertise to people who didn't want
to make the same mistakes I had made. After I spent the $150,000
to open each store and the $5,000 to advertise the opening,
people were introduced to the way we did business and they continued
to come back
to spend money. I made a one-time presentation and I continued
to get paid every time somebody came back to shop at my store.
I had found a way to earn Residual Income without selling insurance.
The money was rolling in, we lived in a beautiful home on a
white sandy beach with palm trees and the appearance was that
we would never have a problem. My goal had been to find something
that would carry me and my family to and through our retirement.
In my search to find and live the Great American
Dream I found myself in the middle of a recurring nightmare
called being your own boss. If you've ever been in your own
business you know the rest of the story. You work a part time
job by just figuring out which 12 hours @ day you're going to
be tied to your business. Because the business looked so lucrative
EVERYBODY decided to open a store. The market was saturated
and I was ready for a change so I started looking for a way
to earn some additional income without giving up my life in
exchange for money. At that point a friend came into my store
and told me he thought he had found a way to make an extra $1,000
a month. I loved what I did for a living, but there was "too
much month for the money" so I asked the same question everybody
asks: "What is it?" He told me he thought it was Multi-Level
Marketing so I told him "Get out of my store."
I had already seen the MLM industry up close
and personal and
was of the opinion (and I still am) that MLM's don't work! Sure
a few people wave big checks, but they only succeed because
hundreds or thousands of others invest their time and money
in buying, warehousing, selling and delivering overpriced products
of a nature that they never used before and that none of their
friends had ever heard of either. I saw companies make outrageous
and ridiculous claims. Why is it that someone will always answer
the ad that promises "no work"... and "no selling". Doesn't
it seem obvious that if your only role in a company were to
provide a convenient place to send money for no reason, very
little money would be sent? But we've just stumbled onto several
of my pet peeves, which you'll learn all about if you stay tuned.
I knew I wanted nothing to do with any business
where I had to: (1) inventory and deliver products, (2) I couldn't
be proud of the company name and (3) where people would get
hurt so that I could win. I asked my friend to sit down and
answer a few questions I knew were going to "sink his ship"
so he would quit bothering me. I asked all the right questions
that I knew would trap him and reveal the "problem" with his
great idea.
-
I asked him if he had tried
some of the products or services from the company and did
he like them? ... he said: "YES".
-
I asked him how many products
he had delivered to people... he said: "NONE".
-
I asked if he had ever used
any of the products or services this company had to offer
before he got involved with them... he said: "YES".
-
I asked how many distributors
were involved with the company... he said: "NONE".
-
I asked how much money he
had to invest to buy his way into position and buy business
centers... he said: "NONE".
-
I asked if he had to spend
all his free time and extra money going to meetings, rallies,
and conventions to stand on chairs singing the company song
and acting like a robot... he said: "NO".
Now I knew he was confused and
brainwashed and I decided to save him from making a BIG mistake.
I asked to see the product line and the marketing plan to see
if it made sense.

What did we need to be successful?

I have a fundamental belief that no matter
what a company representative will tell you about
a company, the Marketing Plan and Product Catalog will tell
you exactly what you have to do and how a company demands you
to behave in order for you to make any money. Plus for any business
to succeed there must be certain success factors in place or
the business is doomed from the start. The marketing plan has
to provide a BUSINESS MODEL that anybody can follow and succeed.
In short the company, products, services and plan have to Just
Make Sense.
-
First, I know that if I am
going to succeed, my efforts have to be taught to me by someone
local to my home that has a vested interest in my success.
-
Second, I know that the product
line of a company has to be unique, patented with proprietary
formulas, reasonably priced, of exceptional quality and easy
to describe and recommend.
-
Finally, the marketing plan
must provide a BUSINESS MODEL that anybody can follow and
succeed. In short the company, products, services and plan
have to Just Make Sense.
I asked my wife to be open-minded and try out
the products with me for 60 days. I told her if we weren't totally
satisfied with what we had purchased I would send it all back
and get our money back. We both agreed to take the company for
a "test drive" before we would talk to anybody. After about
8 weeks we decided we liked what we tried so we shared what
we found with a few of our trusted friends. It made sense to
them too, so now it's time to see if it Just Makes Sense
to you. It's been nine (9) years now, and our goal of working
at something to carry us to and through retirement continues
to be the same. Only now we've found a vehicle that can actually
get us there. We decided that it would make sense and be fun
to use the internet to get the word out to people just like
us who are looking for more than they've got but haven't found
the vehicle to get them there. You got to this site because
a local to your area person recommended that you spend 18 minutes
to see if this Just Makes Sense to you. We'll explain
how we can help you do the same in your area. Not because we're
philanthropists, but because we'll have a vested interest
in your success. You see, what we found out was this company
based our success on how much we assisted others to succeed.
What a concept... getting
paid every month to help people reach their goals.
That's
my story, and of course it's far from over. Now my local business
partners and I are looking to build a highway to our futures
using the tools of today and tomorrow. We're looking for some
people who have the desire (the KEY) to change their future
and are searching for the opportunity, team and tools (the VEHICLE).
If you can relate to sections of My Story, you may have just
found what you've been searching for. Keep on going, the best
is yet to come.
